Throughout its history, Jaén has received different names. It was known as Auringis in Roman times and Yayyan in Arab times, where Azzait comes from.
In ancient Greece, the winners of the Olympic Games received wreaths made of olive branches. The Spartacuses buried their dead in a bed of olive branches to protect their souls, and the participants in the funeral wore the crowns for protection from charged energy.
Legend has it that Poseidon, the god of the seas, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom argued over who would give humanity the most valuable gift. Poseidon gave a horse and Athena gave an olive tree, under the shadow of which all the gods of ancient Greece are said to have been born.
